All Greyhound racing called off
Irish greyhound racing has ground to a halt due to the weather crisis. Last night’s meeting at Kilkenny was cancelled while the Irish Greyhound Board has announced that all Irish tracks will be closed tonight and tomorrow. A decision on Saturday’s meetings will be made closer to the weekend.
The main race of the weekend, the GMHD Juvenile Classic at Tralee tomorrow, was called off yesterday morning. The meeting is expected to go ahead on Friday of next week.
General manager at Shelbourne Park Patrick Flynn reports that all efforts are being made to enable the Dublin track to race on Saturday.
The card includes the semi-finals of the Ladbrokes Easter Cup and it is planned to run the final on Saturday week. In the event of Saturday’s meeting not going ahead, it is possible that the semi-finals could be run on Tuesday night.
