The Riverside Oscar Open 525 has been a great addition to the Irish calendar and the first decider of the €10,000-to-the-winner event will be staged at Curraheen Park this evening.

It has produced some terrific racing over the past number of weeks and the final is a most interesting affair. Only a matter of spots separate all the runners on the clock but the trap draw can be vital around this circuit.

Occupying the inside box will be Fast Fit Alex (9.45) which is trained by Noel Walker for Patricia Flanagan. He has sufficient early pace to hold his pitch to the bend and his pace from halfway can see him stamp his class on the event. He is fancied to win from Coolavanny Pet and Toker Forest.

There are 17 runners scheduled for the Towcester Trial Stakes while a host of others will be having trials at both the morning and evening sessions. Crafty Trivago has been withdrawn as she is in-season and the star attraction will be Graham Holland's Clares Rocket (10.11) which contests the last division where among his rivals will be PJ Fahy's very highly rated Tyrur Shay. It could well be an Irish 1-2 and the race can be viewed on Towcester TV.
