Shane Lowry had the perfect start to his 2019 Masters by hitting a hole-in-one in a pre-tournament event.

The Offaly man couldn't contain his glee as he celebrated with his fellow players before lifting his daughter Iris into the air.

The toddler was on hand to watch her dad's achievement as she and her mother, Wendy, were acting as caddies for him.

"It was special because my wife and baby were with me," said the golfer. "If I count that it's number five (holes-in-one). It's my second one at Augusta."

Meanwhile, the competition proper gets under way today.
