Turkish delight for McGrane over 'final' invite
GREAT news for Damien McGrane as he has received the final invite to this week's Turkish Open.
The third event in the European Tour's lucrative 'Final Series' boasts a €5.2m purse, €848,938 to the winner and, with no cut, a guaranteed €5,378 to the man in 78th place.
Meanwhile, Ernie Els has decided not to play next week's Race to Dubai climax in Dubai in protest over the European Tour's insistence that members must play two out of the first three 'Final Series' to qualify for the DP World Championship.
Sergio Garcia, who helped Greg Norman design the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, also has opted out of the season-ending showpiece by entering just one of the three specified events, last weekend's HSBC Champions.
Remarkably, the world ranking points Garcia won in 11th place at the PGA Tour's CIMB Classic in Malaysia have not been added to the Spaniard's Ryder Cup tally ... it was in direct competition with the first of the 'Final Series' events, the BMW Masters in Shanghai.
