Tiger Woods has issued an update on his health after confirming he has completed 'private intensive program' to help him deal with his personal problems.

Woods captured headlines around the world when he was stopped by police and struggled to respond to basic request, sparking concern over his use of prescription drugs.

The 14-time major winner was taken into custody on May 29 after police found him asleep at wheel of his car by the side of the road, with the video released from the incident creating embarrassing headlines for the golfing great.

Woods' passed a breathalyser test for alcohol and later suggested he had suffered an "unexpected reaction" to prescription medication he was taking as he recovers from a fourth back operation in three years.

Now he has given his fans this message on his current condition, releasing a statement via his social media channels:
