Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn split after 'hectic lives' meant spending too much time apart
Tiger Woods and his girlfriend Lindsey Vonn have split after 'hectic lives' led to them spending too much time apart, she announced on Sunday night.
Ms Vonn said she will "always cherish" the memories of their time together, and said the decision to end the relationship was "mutual".
She wrote on Facebook: "After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship.
"I will always cherish the memories that we've created together.
"Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart.
"I will always admire and respect Tiger. He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart."
The pair were pictured together just last month at the Masters with his children, Sam, who is seven, and six-year-old Charlie.
Woods and Vonn confirmed their relationship in March 2013 in a coordinated announcement on their respective Facebook pages, accompanied by professionally taken photographs of themselves together.
It was Woods' first romance since his career and personal life imploded in 2009 when a series of women alleged he had affairs with them.
Following the revelations Woods took an extended hiatus from golf and his divorce from former Swedish model Elin Nordegren, with whom he has two children, was finalised in August 2010.
Vonn, America's top female skier, won the downhill gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics. In November 2011 she announced a split from her husband of four years, skier Thomas Vonn, and their divorce was made final in January 2013.
