Tiger Woods came under fire for his spitting again yesterday as he wasted a chance to end nearly 15 months without a victory.
One off the lead entering the final round of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, the former world number one dropped to joint 20th with a 75 rounded off with a double-bogey seven on the final hole. But it was on the 12th green that Sky Sports commentator Ewen Murray was disgusted by Woods' behaviour -- just as he had been on Friday.
After missing a par putt, the American spat just a few feet from the hole and Murray said: "You look at his work ethic and he is a credit to the game. But there are some parts of him that are just arrogant and petulant.
"Somebody now has to come behind him and maybe putt over his spit. It does not get much lower than that."
Murray, who expects Woods to be fined by the European Tour for what he did, called his spitting on a tee during the second round "one of the ugliest things you will ever see on a golf course".
