Offaly will welcome home their Major hero Shane Lowry in Clara this evening.

The Irishman has been celebrating his Open win in style since Sunday with various videos of him partying emerging online.

On Sunday evening, Lowry serenaded his family, friends and fans with versions of the Fields of Athenry and Grace in 37 Dawson Street while still dressed in his golf shoes and the same attire from the course hours earlier.

A jubilant Lowry continued the party yesterday in the Boar's Head on Capel Street where he happily posed for photos with fans and then made his way to the Blue Light and the Merry Ploughboy on the foothills of the Dublin mountains.

This evening at 6pm promises to be the biggest party of them all when Offaly finally gets to celebrate its favourite son.

The action kicks off at 6pm with music from local lad Mundy while impressionist Conor Moore - who entertained punters in the Boar's Head yesterday - will also be in attendance for the homecoming hosted by Des Cahill of RTE.
