Marina Joyce-Moreno has been selected for Great Britain and Ireland’s Junior Vagliano Trophy team.
Based at Club de Golf Llavaneras, 40km from Barcelona, she will tee it up in the two-day match against Continental Europe in Blairgowie from August 26-27.
Woburn’s Roisin Scanlon and Roscommon’s Olivia Costello have been selected as reserves.
The Junior Vagliano Trophy, the under-16 girls’ match, was first played in 2011, with the Continent of Europe winning all six editions so far.
The event has historically been played biennially alongside the Vagliano Trophy but is now played every year — in even years staged with the Jacques Léglise Trophy, and in odd years with the Vagliano Trophy.
No Irish players made the GB&I team for the Jacques Léglise Trophy, the annual under-18 boys’ match against the Continent of Europe, which was first played in 1958.
