THE newly redeveloped nine-hole Marlay Golf course will host a day of free golf this coming Friday, ahead of its official opening on May 25.

Situated in Marlay Park on Dublin's southside, golfers wishing to play the par-three layout on the day can book a tee-time by visiting www.marlaygolfcourse.com or by calling (01) 8609360.

The new course has utilised the latest synthetic grass technology to help ensure that it remains playable all year, with golfers able to complete a round in less than an hour.

"A large emphasis will be placed on promoting the facility to juniors and families and throughout the year lots of fun events and tournaments will take place that should really capture the imagination," said Ed Pettit of Carr Golf services, the company that carried out the renovation of the course in conjunction with Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.
