Ireland's Paul Dunne is into the third round of the Saltire Energy Match Play after the Greystones golfer enjoyed a 4&3 win over Sweden's Jens Fahbring yesterday.

Dunne will now face Spain's Alejandro Canizares, who saw off tournament host Paul Lawrie.

"I struggled a little off the tee today but hit some good iron shots and the key was when I did get out of position, he didn't take advantage," Dunne said.

"On 11 I made a long one when he was in close and he ended up missing, so from maybe going back to one up I was three up so that was a big swing."

At the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina, Shane Lowry fired a six-under-par 64 to move to nine-under par for the tournament. The Offaly man carded seven birdies and a bogey to edge into the top 10.

Pádraig Harrington added a two-under-par 68 to his first-round 66 to get to six-under par. In a low-scoring tournament the Dubliner actually moved down the leaderboard despite a second round in the 60s.

American Ryan Armour shot a stunning nine-under par 61 to join compatriot Webb Simpson on 13-under at the top of the leaderboard. Henrik Stenson was one shot further back after his second-round 66.
