Having received his invitation to the US Masters, Mallow amateur star James Sugrue is handing over his first dilemma to his mother - who to bring with him.

The hero of last year's British Amateur Open can bring caddie Conor Dowling and eight other people to Augusta, but he says finalising that list will be difficult.

"Mam and dad have to get one, and then there's my sister Michelle and my girlfriend Christina, the Irish amateur team captain John Carroll and a close family friend," he explained. "After that, I'm not too sure. I may leave it up to my mother to help!"

The 23-year-old will begin the new season by playing the African Amateur and the South African Stroke Play as part of an eight-man GUI squad next month and will then take up an invitation to play the European Tour's Oman Open in Muscat.

He has no plans to turn professional yet as he will likely play the Memorial Tournament before teeing up in the US Open at Winged Foot in June.
