Stephenie Meadow stays in hunt for glory At ladies British Open
Stephanie Meadow kept Irish hopes alive in the Ladies British Open Amateur Championship at Carnoustie yesterday as she moved into the third round.
But progress for the 20-year-old Curtis Cup heroine did not come without some anxiety as it took four extra holes in the morning to get past Lancashire's Emily Taylor, the Irish Open stroke-play champion.
In the afternoon, Meadow took on Sweden's Nathalie Mansson and she swept to a 4&2 win. She faces a tough match this morning against fellow Curtis Cup player Amy Boulden.
Slieve Russell teenager Leona Maguire was beaten 5&3 in the first round by Celine Boutier.
