Shane Lowry finished just one shot behind DP Tour World Championship winner Jon Rahm despite carding a spectacular 63 in his final round in Dubai.

Lowry took a clubhouse lead at the event, which serves as the finale to the lucrative Race to Dubai, but Spaniard Rahm held off the challenge of the Irishman and Thailand's Kiradech Aphibarnrat who also finished in a tie for second.

Lowry entered the final round six shots off Justin Rose at the top of the leaderboard but played some of the best golf of his career to rocket up the standings.

He started with two birdies, before finishing the front nine with five birdies and one bogey. He was even better on the back nine, carding five birdies - including three in-a-row on 13, 14 and 15 - while dropping no shots.

However, it was not enough to reel in Rahm, who shot a final round 67 to finish one shot clear on -19.

Today's result means that England's Tommy Fleetwood is the Race to Dubai winner.
