Padraig Harrington has poked fun at the US Ryder Cup team ahead of the famous gold tournament between the best golfers on both sides of the Atlantic later this month.

The American's, who will be led by Davis Love III, will come into the tournament at Hazeltine under a lot of pressure from the home crowd after winning just one of the last seven editions of the competition.

Following their defeat at Gleneagles two years ago, the PGA of America set up a task force comprised of past Captains, players and PGA of America leadership to develop how the US teams playing and non-playing would be formed in the future.

The move was met by criticism in some quarters and speaking on Off The Ball on Newstalk, Padraig Harrington used it to have a dig at the US team.

"Hopefully we'll win again and the US will need another task force to figure out what went wrong."

The Ryder Cup is just over four weeks away.

Today, Darren Clarke finalised him European team by naming Lee Westwood, Martin Kaymer and Thomas Pieters as his three wild card picks.
