Ryan and Scott win Balcarrick Jubilee Pro-Am
Balcarrick Golf Club might not be considered one of Ireland’s toughest courses but it proved more than a match for Ireland’s leading PGA professionals as just seven players broke par in the Brooks Timber & Building Supplies sponsored Balcarrick Jubilee Pro-Am on Monday.
East Cork’s David Ryan and Farnham Estate’s Damien Scott carded two-under par 71s on a day of mixed weather at the Donabate venue to win by a shot from Glasson’s Colm Moriarty, Kilkenny’s Jimmy Bolger, Banbridge’s Richard Kilpatrick, Clontarf’s Eamonn Brady and Craddockstown’s Glen Robinson.
Richard O’Donovan shot 73 to tie for eighth with Headfort’s Brendan McGovern, Waterville’s David Higgins, Mount Wolseley’s Sean O’Donoghue, Limerick’s Tim Rice, The K Club’s Liam Grehan and Druids Glen’s Patrick Geraghty.
Redcastle Hotel and Golf Club’s Seamus Clinton shot 74 to tie for eighth with Neil O’Briain from McGuirks Golf Finglas, Massereene’s David Hughes, Michael McGeady from Michael McGeady Golf and Kilkenny’s Eoin O’Connor.
The team prize was won by Corrstown’s Craig Melvin, who had 92 points with Brendan McCarthy, Gareth Colgan and Tom Collins to win by a shot from O’Donovan, Cormac Power and Steven Quinlan.
