Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and (only he knows why!) Lance Armstrong lead the tributes to Masters champion Sergio Garcia
Sergio Garcia's dramatic victory at The Masters sparked a stream of tributes on Twitter, with the Spaniard's long wait for a first major title adding to the mood of delight after his epic win at Augusta.
Even his classy rival Justin Rose admitted he was 'delighted' for Garcia after he finally lost his thrilling duel against the Spaniard at the first play-off hole.
"I'm really happy for Sergio," declared Rose, who looked like the probable winner for much of the final round.
"We've been friends for a long time and playing golf against each other since we were 14.
"I'm going to be disappointed for about a month but then golf will take over and I'll go after my goals with the US Open and Open at Royal Birkdale coming up. I'm looking forward to that now."
It was an epic sporting occasion that captured the imagination of millions around the world, with sporting greats, celebrities and disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong all keen to acclaim Garcia as he finally became a major champion.
