Nicklaus welcomes Woods' plan for a return to PGA Tour
Jack Nicklaus, the greatest golfer of all time, welcomed Tiger Woods, the man who would be king, back to the game last night.
The Golden Bear tweeted: "It's great to see you back and in good health. You've done so much for the game and it's better with you playing. Good luck!"
Woods' last Tour appearance was at the Wyndham Championship in August 2015.
The following month he had back surgery and a follow-up operation. There were fears his career was over, but Woods plans a PGA Tour return at the Safeway Open in California on Thursday, October 13, and hopes to play in a Tiger Foundation event earlier that week. "It was difficult missing tournaments that are important to me, but this time I was smart about my recovery and didn't rush it," he said.
