McIlroy's persuasive power ensures Reed joins world's elite at Irish Open
RORY McIlroy's version of the Law of Attraction is central to the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open presenting one of the strongest fields in the history of the tournament.
Just six weeks away from the big tee-off, the entry list of stellar names continues to strengthen with the announcement yesterday that reigning US Open champion Martin Kaymer, former world No 1 Luke Donald and US Ryder Cup star Patrick Reed are lined up to compete at Royal County Down.
Kaymer last played in Ireland at the Open in 2008 when he finished 10th at Adare Manor, while Donald has not featured in the Irish Open since 2004
European Tour officials are delighted that the persuasive power of McIlroy (above), and his world No 1 status, are exerting huge influence on the top players.
They expect a sell-out repeat of the 2012 Open at Royal Portrush.
