McIlroy to brainstorm

RORY McILROY wants Padraig Harrington's mind-coach Dr Bob Rotella to help him become a serial winner. He'll have his first consultation with US golf's foremost psychologist when he returns to the US for the Honda Classic the week after next.

"The main objective is to get to the next level and turn all those top-fives I've had into wins," said McIlroy, beaten by Oliver Wilson in Thursday's second round of the Accenture Match Play in Tucson.

Paul Casey yesterday eased closer to his second successive final at Dove Mountain, romping to his third 5&4 win of the week against Brian Gay.

Ian Poulter, meanwhile, pounded Jeev Milkha Singh, 5&4, while Luke Donald took Wilson into extra-time by sinking a 50-foot bomb for birdie at 18. Poulter now plays Thongchai Jaidee, who thumped Japan teenager Ryo Ishikawa 5&4. Sergio Garcia eclipsed Tim Clark 2&1.
