Justin Thomas holds nerve to win Honda Classic as Tiger Woods falls just short of a top 10 finish
Justin Thomas beat Luke List in a sudden-death play-off to win the Honda Classic at Palm Beach Gardens.
Both players ended their final rounds on eight under par after carding birdies on the par-five 18th.
Playing the same hole in the play-off, Thomas, who won last season's PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, rolled in a three-foot putt for a birdie as List carded a five after failing to find the fairway.
Thomas joins Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth as the only players in the last 30 years to win eight PGA Tour titles before the age of 25.
Alex Noren finished third on seven under while fourth-placed Tommy Fleetwood's challenge fell short by two shots.
Woods finished the tournament level par to finish 12th, his best finish in an official PGA Tour event since the Wyndham Championship in August 2015.
It was a weekend to forget for Rory McIlroy as slipped to +9 while Shane Lowry had a good final round carding a -3 67 to finish the tournament on +7.
