'My game is there' - Shane Lowry confident of strong Irish Open showing in Lahinch
Shane Lowry will head to Lahinch for next week's Dubai Duty Free Irish Open convinced his game can allow him repeat the famous win of 2009.
"My game is there," he said as he was unveiled as a Paddy Power golf ambassador.
"When I went out to play in the first round of the US Open two weeks ago, I felt as good about my game as I've ever done in my life.
"That I didn't play well that day didn't upset me, because I knew I would be able to come out and play well on the Friday - and I did."
Lowry has been in a rich vein of form ever since winning in Abu Dhabi in January, with top tens coming along regularly. "I'd love another win for the second half of the season, but then I'd be greedy because on January 1st this year, I said to myself that I was going to get one win in 2019."
The Clara man was not a great fan of Lahinch during his amateur days, never doing really well in the annual South of Ireland Championship played there.
"But that was all a long time ago, I think I'm ready to do better next week."
