Irish Olympian Séamus Power has earned his card for next season’s PGA tour after finishing ninth on the Web.com tour money list for 2016.

Waterford native Power, who finished in 15th place at the recent games in Rio, tied for 11th at the Portland Open last weekend, ensuring his spot within the top 25 earners of the developmental competition, having taken home $209,590 in winnings.

The 29-year-old will soon be pitting himself against the sport’s elite and, in May, was the first Irish golfer to win an event on the Web.com Tour after finishing atop of the leaderboard at the United Leasing & Finance Championship.

He took to Instagram to celebrate his feat.
