Endless Love

US Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III belied his 48 years with a first-round 68 which certainly showed up Tiger Woods and Padraig Harrington, two men who hope to play in next year's matches at Medinah.

Love, who finished tied 11th at the US Open in Congressional and ninth at last month's British Open at Royal St George's, certainly looked more like a contender for a place on his team in Chicago as he outscored Tiger by 10 yesterday and Harrington by five.

He's currently eighth in the US Ryder Cup standings and the 1999 US PGA champion joked: "I think we should cut it off (qualifying) if I do well this weekend."
