A natural low

SHE giveth and she taketh away! If Mother Nature had been kind to Rory McIlroy at the US Open, keeping the course at Congressional well doused, she certainly didn't smile on him at Royal St George's.

It came to a head on the green at the par-five seventh in yesterday's fourth round when winds gusting up to 35mph blew the Holywood star's ball back an inch or two after address, costing him a one-stroke penalty. All McIlroy could do was smile ruefully and shake his head as he replaced his ball eight feet from the cup and two-putted for a bogey six.
