Barry Geraghty will make his debut as retained jockey to leading owner JP McManus at Limerick on Sunday.

Geraghty has been sidelined with a broken shinbone since March and suffered another setback after being admitted to hospital with a kidney stone earlier this week.

However, he is now ready to make his comeback and is scheduled for three rides in McManus' famous green and gold silks.

He returns aboard the Aidan O'Brien-trained Waver, who faces eight rivals in the Mike Denver Plays Limerick Racecourse Live On The 23rd July Rated Hurdle.

The five-year-old, who has won three times on the level and once over hurdles, faces a strong field including the veteran Pires and Peter Fahey's smart mare Queen Alphabet.

Geraghty then rides Getting Late for Edward O'Grady in the Handicap Hurdle, before getting the leg-up on Hash Brown in the Book Online At Beginners Chase.

The latter is a Grade Three winner over hurdles and makes his debut over fences for Michael Hourigan.

Hourigan said: "It's his first run over fences, and two miles and one (furlong) might be on the sharp side for him, but we have to start somewhere.

"He will probably be a bit fresh, so we'll see what happens.

"Barry has ridden a lot of winners."
