The image of Donegal footballers driving their own cars from one extremity of the Wild Atlantic Way to the other, all to play a match, was the most eye-catching example of GAA expeditions in the Covid era.

But while Donegal's epic road journey to Tralee may have been the longest - a round trip of over 900km for some players - they weren't the only ones. Over Saturday and Sunday, numerous county teams criss-crossed the island to either complete their NFL campaigns or launch their hurling championship adventures.
