St Mary’s Saggart kept their AFL3 title hopes alive as their ability to find the net proved pivotal in their 6-14 to 0-13 win over St Peregrine’s in Saggart on Wednesday evening.
With Parnell’s and St Patrick’s Donabate maintaining their perfect records, it was imperative that St Mary’s stay in touch and they duly delivered, thanks to goals from Adam Drewett, Glen Murray, Alex Darcy, Mikey Byrne, Ciaran Dunne and Adam Brady.
Also, Conor Jameson impressed for the hosts in an attacking capacity, kicking four points from play, with Drewett, Brady and newcomer Jack O’Keeffe at wing-back all more than playing their part in their team’s success.
At the opposite end of the table, it proved another disappointing night for St Brigid’s and St Finian’s Newcastle, with defeat at the hands of Clanna Gael Fontenoy and St Margaret’s, respectively.
AFL3: Parnells 0-11 Naomh Fionnbarra 0-9; Erin’s Isle 0-9 Trinity Gaels 0-11; St Margaret’s 5-15 St Finian’s Newcastle 0-6; St Mary’s Saggart 6-14 St Peregrine’s 0-13; Ballyboden St 1-11 St Patrick’s Palmerstown 2-14; St Brigid’s 0-12 Clanna Gael Fontenoy 3-14; Good Counsel/Liffey Gaels 3-4 St Jude’s 1-12; St Patrick’s Donabate 5-18 O’Toole’s 1-6.

Ballymun Kickhams kept their promotion ambitions intact as they edged a battling St Mark’s by 2-9 to 0-11 in their Dublin AFL4 encounter in McGee Park last Wednesday night.
With St Sylvester’s succumbing to their second defeat of the year, losing 1-14 to 0-11 to Clontarf, Ballymun took full advantage as goals from Kevin Kelly and Liam O’Donovan separated the well-matched teams at the final whistle. O’Donovan also added four points to his goal as Kickhams held on for victory, thanks to the influential individual displays of Padraic McMahon, Jason Welby and Glen Sheridan.
