Last year's beaten finalists Sligo are back in the Lory Meagher Cup final thanks to a comprehensive 14-point defeat of Leitrim in Markievicz Park on Saturday.

Declan Loughnane's side outscored their opponents by 1-12 to 0-3 in the second half, as the visitors were reduced to 13 men.

Full-back Thomas Glancy and attacker John Ryan were both shown red after picking up two yellow cards, before substitute Matthew Davey rattled home Sligo's only goal late on to seal the victory.

Goals from Zac Moradi and Pauric McWeeney kept Leitrim in touch in the opening half, and they trailed by just 0-10 to 2-2 at the break.

But Sligo found a new gear after the break, with Keith Raymond and Sean Kenny taking their combined tally for the day to 16 points as Leitrim were over-run, with five of Kenny's points coming from play.
