NUI Galway 3-15 IT Sligo 1-6
NUI Galway will face a stiffer test in the next round of the Sigerson Cup, but thanks to goals from Damien Comer, Brian Donovan and Enda Tierney, they mastered the conditions in Dangan.
IT Sligo started with points from Liam Gaughan and Robbie Smyth, but Comer’s goal in the fourth minute and strong displays from Peter Cooke and Gerard O’Kelly Lynch helped them to a 2-6 to 0-4 interval lead.
Donovan’s goal came just before the break, and he also laid on the final pass as Tierney flicked the ball to the net for the clinching goal nine minutes from time.
