Limerick IT rescued a three-point victory after trailing for most of their second-round clash against DCU-Dóchas Éireann.
Two second-half goals from Galway's Paul Killeen were the foundation of the comeback, with the latter green flag levelling the game with five minutes remaining.
Having trailed from the 18th minute onwards, Davy Fitzgerald's determined side scored subsequent points from Waterford's Shane Bennett and Tipperary sub Seán Ryan to see off a heartbroken DCU, who had much the better of things for most of the game, with Patrick Curran to the fore.
Four DCU points without reply - including an impressive strike from Wexford's Joe O'Connor - helped them take control early on. O'Connor and fellow Wexford midfielder Gavin Bailey then fired DCU into a deserved 0-8 to 0-4 lead at the break.
LIT's fightback began with scores from Diarmuid Byrnes and David Reidy. Killeen's batted goal on 40 minutes reduced the deficit to one and the Galway man again found the net with five minutes remaining.
