Shane Meehan scored five points and set up Eoin Talty for the game's only goal as Clare emerged as worthy winners at Cusack Park.

Tipp were three points ahead when Meehan pounced on a bad kick-out to play in Talty.

Conor Hassett and Meehan then added points to leave Clare ahead 1-2 to 0-3 at half-time.

Tipp hit two early second-half points but Clare then began to dominate, kicking four unasnwered scores.
