Carnacon routed Knockmore by 9-10 to 0-4 to retain their Mayo title at Kilmeena.

The reigning All-Ireland champions were kicked out of the Mayo Championship earlier this year after eight of their players walked out of the Mayo squad in a dispute over manager Peter Leahy's training methods.

They were later reinstated and and the eight were originally hit with four-week bans but these halved on appeal and they were eligible to play in the semi-final victory over Moy Davitts and in today's comprehensive win over a young Knockmore side.

Carnacon will now go onto to try and defend their Connacht and All-Ireland titles.

It was their 19th Mayo title in a row.
