Dublin Ladies cruised past Laois in Timahoe to book a provincial finals clash with Westmeath.

The holders took control early on with four unanswered points from Amy Connolly, Sarah McCaffrey, Lyndsey Davey and Kim Flood.

Noirin Kirwan got Laois on the scoreboard with a free, but Dublin responded with a Carla Rowe free and a point apiece from Davey and Flood.

Laura Marie Maher pulled a back a goal for Laois, and veteran Martina Dunne added a free to leave just two points between the sides.

But Dublin went through the gears with points from Noelle Healy, Rowe, Sarah McCaffrey and Flood to stretch their lead to 0-11 to 1-2 at the break.

Kirwan reduced the arrears on the resumption, but the Dubs' reply was a well-taken goal from All Star forward Healy which effectively killed off the game.

Dublin simply had too much strength in depth for Laois and finished the game out with points from Flood, Rowe, Davey and McCaffrey.

Dublin boss Gregory McGonigle will look for an improved performance in the final on July 19 at Dr Cullen Park.

However, yesterday's encounter will stand to the champions, who had not played a competitive game in over nine weeks.
