King Henry helps to double attendance at Centra Community Hurling events

Henry Shefflin and Pádraic Maher have had busy summers on the inter-county front but the work they've done behind the scenes with Centra has helped double the attendance of last year's Centra Community Hurling events.

This summer 2,700 children aged between five and 12 attended the 16 events around the country to help promote the game in both established and developing hurling counties.

As well as Shefflin (below) and Maher, past and present stars such as Seán Óg Ó hAilpín, John Mullane, Jamesie O'Connor, Patrick Horgan and Pat Donnellan passed on their advice to future stars.

This year, Centra celebrated their fifth year as sponsor of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship and with a healthy increase of 125pc in the numbers attending their events across the country, they are sure to grow again next year.
