THERE'S no place for Maurice Shanahan in the Waterford starting line-up for tomorrow's Allianz Hurling League Division 1 final against Clare at Semple Stadium.

The prolific Lismore Allstar has failed to shrug off a groin injury in time for the Munster championship dress rehearsal at Semple Stadium but scans have revealed no long-term damage and he could make an appearance off the bench.

Manager Derek McGrath has opted for the same team that lined out against Limerick in the semi-final as the Déise look to retain their League crown against the Banner County, who are aiming for a first top-flight title since 1978.

Clare boss Davy Fitzgerald will reveal his team this afternoon but a number of players are unavailable, and a late call will be made on Shane O'Donnell's availability.

Conor Ryan, David McInerney and John Conlon are all ruled out through injury.

In other news, former Galway senior hurler Johnny Glynn has been named at midfield on the New York team for Sunday's Connacht SFC opener at home to Roscommon.

Elsewhere, Ronan Hayes replaces Sean Currie in the only change on the Dublin team for this afternoon's Leinster MHC quarter-final against Laois.
