David Treacy and Eamon Dillon produced a scoring masterclass as Dublin swept aside the challenge of visitors Galway to qualify for next Saturday’s Walsh Cup final.

Treacy top-scored with 12 points at Parnell Park, four from play, while first-half substitute Dillon struck 1-2 and was denied two further goals by Tribesman goalkeeper James Skehill in an accomplished Dublin performance.

Ger Cunningham’s side were out of the traps early and surged into a 0-5 to nil lead but a fortuitous goal from All-Star David Burke on the half hour mark left it level at the break, 1-9 to 0-12.

The Dubs continued where they left, however, and Dillon’s 40th minute goal was the springboard to a satisfying display as they surged into an unassailable lead to set up a clash with Wexford in Croke Park next weekend.
