Wolfe Tones turned a two-point half-time deficit into a 10-point winning margin to claim their seventh Longford title in eight years on a wet and miserable afternoon at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
This was the second final loss in a row for Slashers, who ended the game with 13 players after Sean Stakelum and sub Shane Maguire were sent off.
A pointed free from Eoin Donnellan sent Slashers into the break with a two-point lead, but Wolfe Tones were a different proposition after the restart, and three points from John Mulhern edged them back in front in the 35th minute.
Then man of the match Maitiu O'Donohoe scored Tones' first goal and they settled the game in the 48th minute when Evan Tully netted.
