The Throw-In Hurling Show: Disappointing Dublin, why Cody's the right man for Kilkenny and John Mullane on Waterford

Dublin manager Pat Gilroy
Dublin manager Pat Gilroy

It was the opening of the Allianz Hurling League and the Pat Gilroy era got off to a disappointing start against Offaly, the Wexford bandwagon rolled on in Waterford, and is Brian Cody under a bit of pressure after an opening defeat to Cork?

Joining Will Slattery on this week’s Hurling Throw-In, in association with Allianz, was Waterford legend John Mullane, Martin Breheny of the Irish Independent and Conor McKeown of The Herald. Plus we get the reaction from Dublin hurling fans on their hopes for the coming season.

The panel also discuss Tipperary's decision to play Cathal Barrett in midfield, Cork's continued improvement, Waterford's league priorities and why the new Leinster hurling championship structure might be bad for the game.

Subscribe to The Throw-In, Independent.ie's weekly GAA podcast in association with Allianz, for the best in GAA discussion and analysis every week, with some of the biggest names in football and hurling from Joe Brolly, Tomás Ó'Sé and John Mullane.
