Ironically, it was one of the seven trophies picked up by Cuala's Con O'Callaghan in 2017.

Cuala's Paul Schutte lifted the trophy for the Leinster under-21 football championship aloft when his side bagged back-to-back Leinster senior club hurling titles by beating Offaly champions Kilcormac-Killoughey.

Des Cahill tweeted after the game: "Ahem..!! Cough..!! Eh...This seems to be the WRONG trophy!! But we don’t mind..   #Cuala are AGAIN the @AIB_GAA Leinster Club Champions!! Respect to @KK_GAA  but what a great performance from our boys!  #MaybeTheCupIsForUnder21InterCountyFootball #TheToughest"

Cahill told the Irish Daily Star: "We were amused to see inter-county names on the bottom of it. We gave them the right cup and they gave us that one back. Someone broke the handle."

Cuala are expected to be reunited with the original in the coming days.
