Slyane won back the Connacht Junior title they claimed in 2015 when they defeated Calry/St Joseph's at Connacht Centre of Excellence yesterday - the same opposition they defeated in the decider two years ago.

The Galway champions were always in control against the Sligo side and lead at the break 0-14 to 0-2 with some super hurling and score-taking from Ryan Keane and Kevin Brady putting them in control.

Calry-St Joseph's only scored once from play during the entire match - that point came from Keith Raymond who accounted four of their five.

The game had two red cards in final 10 minutes. Firstly Slyane's Stephen Reilly, and he was followed by Calry's Darragh Cox before the full time.
