Sheridan leads Fingal rout
Fingal 1-21 Louth 2-8
Fingal bounced back from a 10-point defeat to Roscommon to dispose of 14-man Louth by the same margin in Dundalk.
JM Sheridan's dead-ball skills were vital as the visitors took full advantage of Darren O'Hanrahan's red card less than a minute into the second-half.
Louth made a dream start as goals from Andrew Mackin and Liam Dwan helped to chisel out a 2-3 to 0-2 lead after just 15 minutes.
But Fingal eventually settled, however, and a Paul McAllister tap-in from a saved Sheridan penalty hauled them right back into contention.
Sheridan converted a second penalty soon after, but it was ruled out for encroaching, and despite losing their way in the closing stages of the half, Louth adjourned with a 2-5 to 1-7 lead.
Fingal didn't need long to steal the lead after O'Hanrahan's dismissal and they pushed on for a comfortable win after that.
