Antrim rounded off their Walsh Cup campaign with a deserved eight-point victory over UCD at Queen's University's Sports Complex on Saturday.

It was quite an entertaining game with some excellent performances for the home side, including Liam Watson, Eddie McCloskey and Kevin McKernan.

It was the Students who opened the scoring in the first minute, but Antrim were soon in control with five points in a row.

The hosts had a 0-9 to 0-6 lead at the change of ends.

A James Maher point straight from the restart hinted at a strong second half from UCD, but Antrim were quickly back in control and hit nine of the next 11 points to move seven clear on 58 minutes.

The Dublin university did give themselves a chance to get back into it on 64 minutes, when Oisín O'Rorke drilled a 20-meter free into the net, but Antrim responded three minutes from time, when Sian McGrath passed to Ciaran Clarke, who whipped the sliotar into the net.

Darren Hamill had the final say with a point in stoppage time, to cap the win.

Scorers - Antrim: L Watson 0-9 (6 f); C Clarke 1-2; E McCloskey, K McKernan 0-3 (1 sideline); M Bradley 0-2; D Hamill 0-1. UCD: O O'Rorke 1-5 (1-4 f, 0-1 '65); J Maher 0-3; J O'Connor 0-2; R King 0-2.
