Conor Ryan has become Clare's latest injury concern ahead of their opening Munster SH Championship clash against Limerick on Sunday.
Ryan is nursing a leg injury which flared up during a recent training camp and is facing a race against time this week which, if he loses, could leave Clare without five of their 2013 AllStars.
Brendan Bugler is suspended for the game, Podge Collins has committed to the Clare footballers, Colm Galvin has gone to Boston for the summer, while Conor McGrath is almost certain to miss out because of a hamstring injury that he picked up against Kilkenny in the relegation play-off and has struggled to shake off.
On top of that, Clare won't have the services of promising Sixmilebridge player Jamie Shanahan, who has undergone back surgery in recent weeks.
Collins will be one of four former hurlers who look set to be involved in Clare's weekend Munster Championship quarter-final against Limerick.
His brother Sean, Cathal McInerney and Davy O'Halloran have also linked up with the footballers since they departed and all four are expected to see some action, especially with Sean McGrath unavailable.
