Roscommon relegated to Division 3A after playoff defeat to Mayo
Mayo 1-16 Roscommon 0-17
A place in Division 2B for another year was the prize in this relegation play-off at Castlebar where it was Mayo who stay up, while Roscommon ended a bitterly disappointing season without a win in the division.
Roscommon lead by six points at one stage but were outscored by Mayo in the last ten minutes, a goal in injury-time from Kenney Feeney, who scored 1-10, saw Mayo steal it at the death.
Five frees from Shane Curley proved crucial in helping Roscommon hold a two-point lead at the break - 0-9 to 0-7 - while Kenny Feeney also stroked over five frees for Mayo to insure they were well in touch at the break.
However, Roscommon were the better side in that first half and would have been further ahead but for nine wides.
