Rohan shocks brave Celbridge
Carrickshock 3-12 Celbridge 1-16
Carrickshock lifted the Leinster intermediate hurling title in Newbridge on Saturday when a last-gasp Micheal Rohan goal put them ahead for the first and only time.
Kildare champions Celbridge weren't given much of a chance against a side stuffed with Kilkenny hurling legends but they turned in brilliant performance and led from the second minute through to Rohan's decisive goal.
After Tom Fitzgerald's fifth-minute goal, Celbridge led 1-9 to 0-9 at half-time. Celbridge then led by six points going into the final stages but the move of John Dalton from full-back into the full-forward line kick-started a comeback.
Kevin Farrell then pulled Carrickshock level for the first time but Celbridge were able to reply with a stunning point. There was one last twist though and Rohan's goal meant the Kilkenny side were ahead for less than 20 seconds.
