Kildare 1-21 London 2-14
After conceding two early goals to London and trailing by 11 points at half-time, Kildare were grateful for David Reidy, who hit 1-10 to spare their blushes.
All the talk before this clash in Clane was how Kildare had a mathematical chance of a league final, while London were expected to remain at the foot of the table. However, aided by the breeze, the Exiles tore into their rivals.
Shane Lawless got a goal within 30 seconds, while Shane O'Donnell fired a second en route to a 2-11 to 0-6 half-time lead.
Kildare, though, hit back after the break and Reidy found the net on 50 minutes to leave only two points in it. Richie Ryan and John Mulhall levelled it up, before Reidy's 10th point saw Kildare hit the front.
