Cathal O'Neill scored 11 points as Limerick became the first away team to earn victory in the new-look Munster MHC.

At Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday evening, the Treatymen never trailed to leave themselves well placed to reach the final.

"It was a very good performance, a great team performance," said manager Antóin Power.

"We hurled from the start right to the finish, the subs that came on added to the team as well.

"At the end of the day, it's only round two, we'll recover and prepare for Waterford next week."

The Shannonsiders led by 0-12 to 0-7 at half-time, and a goal from Cormac Ryan on 42 minutes gave them a cushion of 1-14 to 0-10 which Cork were never going to be able to bridge.

Jack Cahalane was the primary scoring threat for Cork, scoring six points while Cormac O'Brien got four, with Diarmuid Hegarty, Patrick Kirby and Eoin O'Mahony helping O'Neill (pictured) to shoulder the Limerick scoring burden.
