Potterton fires Kildalkey
Kildalkey 1-17 Kiltale 0-11, Meath SHC final
Tenacious Kildalkey made no mistake at the second time of asking as they halted Kiltale's surge for six in a row in this thrilling final replay at Páirc Tailteann yesterday.
Kildalkey, who last won the title in 2011, were ahead by five points in the closing stages of the drawn match before having to come from behind to force a replay.
However, there was no let-up on this occasion as they led 0-10 to 0-8 at half-time and then kicked on to produce an excellent second-half display.
By the end of the third quarter, Kildalkey had a four-point advantage as the champions struggled to produce their free-flowing game. The crucial score arrived when midfielder Patrick Potterton blasted to the net on 54 minutes to leave it 1-14 to 0-11.
Kiltale failed to score in the final 15 minutes and Kildalkey finished in style with points from Conneely, Nicky Potterton and Brendan McKeon.
