Picture: Waterford mural heaps more pressure on John Mullane to ride naked on horseback if Déise win All Ireland

In case you missed it - Earlier this summer John Mullane promised to ride naked on horseback down the Waterford quays if the Déise win the All Ireland hurling final.

Speaking on RTE back in May, Mullane said: "I'm going to go for Galway. I think it's written in the stars. I think they'll beat Dublin, they'll be in a Leinster final. I think they'll win Leinster; it's going to be Galway's year. What I will say is, if Waterford win the All-Ireland I'll jump on a horse in the nude and go down the Quay!"

And when the Waterford legend was reminded of his comments earlier this week, he told Morning Ireland: "At the time, it was a bit of fun. It would be out of elation if we did pull it off, but look, if the lads do pull it off I’m sure we can come to some sort of agreement. We might get a charity involved, and possibly get a few bob for the lads’ team holiday."

Just in case anyone needs reminding, Waterford restaurant Burzza have emblazoned a cartoon of Mullane on horseback - yes, with no clothes on - on it's main window.

"We just got it finished last night. It's creating a bit of a buzz here in the build up to Sunday's match," Tommy McCarthy of Burzza told Independent.ie.

Ask not what your county can do for you.
